Plan Structures
Three ways to pay.
Individual Executive. Buys personally or through the company.
Fully Corporate-Paid. The company pays 100% of all premiums.
Executive Flex. The company pays 100% of Single; the executive upgrades to Couple or Family and pays the difference through payroll deduction, or through a Health Spending Account where applicable.
Group health insurance premiums are tax deductible and a tax free benefit, up to shareholder limits.

Yes. Members receiving treatment under the Global Medical Benefit more than 320 km from home receive a travel budget of up to $5,000 per year for transportation and accommodation, paid on a reimbursement basis. A $5,000 deductible applies to the Global Medical Benefit itself.
Yes. Members can access private clinics or private practitioners who have withdrawn from the provincial health plan within Canada. Benefits in Canada are not payable if they are covered under a government plan or other health care plan or policy.
Members must be under age 74 to apply and working at least 20 hours per week with provincial health coverage.
Coverage can continue past age 74 while the member is still working and provincially covered.
The Executive Travel Insurance portion terminates at age 75.
There are no health questions in order to qualify for The Health Reserve Membership.
For the first 36 months, pre-existing conditions are not covered under the Global Medical Benefit. After 36 months of coverage they are covered up to $50,000. A pre-existing condition is one diagnosed by a physician, for which treatment was recommended or received, or for which a symptom would have led to a diagnosis, before the cover start date. The clause does not apply to the annual assessment, diagnostic imaging, Expert Medical Opinion or Executive Wellness services.
The Global Medical Benefit is underwritten by Best Doctors Canada Insurance Services Inc. and reinsured through Lloyd's of London. Executive Travel coverage is underwritten by Orion Travel Insurance Company.
When you are enrolled and select a clinic, you will be invited to download the corresponding app and receive instructions to invite your eligible dependents. Cleveland Clinic also offers the Tyto Home Medical Exam Kit, which allows their nurses and doctors to provide a more thorough virtual exam for you and your family. The Tyto is available for an additional fee.
Yes. The Complete Executive Health package includes all the listed benefits. There is also an option to remove the Prevention Services (Annual Assessment and Wellness Bundle). Membership is available on a Single, Couple and Family basis.
Book your Annual Assessment through the member portal. Once your request is submitted, the private clinic of your choice will be notified and reach out to help schedule your Assessment.

Claims require a pre-certification so the insurance company can confirm eligibility and assist with next steps. Once you contact Best Doctors Insurance Canada, they coordinate direct billing and gather medical information from service providers so members do not pay out of pocket or spend time obtaining records.
No. The Health Reserve does not provide medical services or advice. It is a product sold exclusively through the GroupBenefitz Platform Inc. and its network of advisors: a bundle of products packaged together to provide members ease of access, enrolment and advantaged pricing. The Health Reserve is an executive health brand with insurance services provided by licensed advisors.
No. The Executive Assessment and Whole-Body MRI are available to member and spouse only. Children have access to the other elements of the plan, with eligible age limits varying by service.
Phzio: as frequently as needed, for up to six family members (including parents).
gutChek: every 24 months, for dependents over 6 years of age on the family plan.
Pillcheck: once per lifetime of membership. Family minimum age is 14; two tests per family.
RxFood: annually, for all dependents on the family plan.
EXAP: initial session included; additional sessions at preferred rates.
All three clinics provide virtual care access for the entire family. Medcan and Cleveland Clinic provide in-person access on an ongoing basis: Medcan for the entire family, Cleveland Clinic for members who have completed their Annual Health Assessment.
